Cortica is a doctor-led autism care provider for children and teens. We were one of the first providers to pioneer comprehensive autism care, and the first to offer a whole child care model. Our pediatric neurologists, pediatricians, behavior analysts, therapists and counselors work as one team to provide autism diagnostics, medical care for the health conditions that often come with autism, ABA therapy, speech and occupational therapy, and mental health counseling, all in one place.
Cortica began as a single clinic in Del Mar, California. Today our teams care for children across the country, in our centers, at home, at school and through telehealth.
After our first clinic in Del Mar, this became Cortica's first San Diego location. Our San Diego center has since moved to a larger space in Sorrento Valley. Visit our San Diego center

A recent study found that more therapy hours don’t guarantee success—personalized, whole child care does.
Cortica is one of the few autism care organizations with outcomes published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal, reflecting our commitment to evidence-based, transparent care.
65% of children at Cortica improved across multiple areas of development—far surpassing outcomes from typical community programs.

Forbes looks at how Dr. Suzanne Goh built Cortica's model around outcomes, using about half the standard ABA hours, and why health plans and CMS are catching up while other providers leave entire states.

Cortica was co-founded by Suzanne Goh, MD, BCBA, a pediatric neurologist and board certified behavior analyst, and Neil Hattangadi, MD. It began as a single clinic in Southern California in 2014 and is headquartered in San Diego, California.
Cortica has 28 centers in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina and Texas. Depending on location, care may also be offered at home, at school, in the community or through telehealth.
Cortica serves children and teens up to 17 years old, including for ABA therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and medical care. Most children start with us at 18 months or older, though we sometimes see younger children. Our Jumpstart early intervention program is for children 5 and under.
ABA-only centers focus on behavior. Cortica's care is led by physicians and also treats the medical and developmental needs that affect learning, like sleep problems, GI symptoms, seizures, sensory and motor challenges, and anxiety.

No. We specialize in autism, but we also care for children with other developmental and neurological differences, including developmental delay, ADHD, epilepsy, genetic syndromes and sensory processing disorder. Every child gets a plan built around their needs, whatever their diagnosis.
No. Our medical team, led by pediatricians and neurologists, can do a full evaluation, including autism testing, and give you an accurate diagnosis.
Yes. We take a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach across all of our therapies, including ABA therapy, medical care, speech therapy, occupational therapy and counseling. We tailor care to each child's needs and experiences and celebrate their progress along the way.
No. Instead of requiring a set number of hours, we give each child their own therapy prescription based on their development, needs and goals, to help them make the most progress.
Yes, when it would help your child. Some children do best with care in more than one setting, so we're glad to consider a mix of in-center and in-home ABA.
Depending on your child's needs and their school, we may be able to provide ABA therapy at school in certain districts. In California, Cortica is a certified nonpublic agency (NPA).
We do our best to honor family preferences when scheduling, with a focus on quality and consistent care. If your preferred therapist isn't available, know that every Cortica therapist receives whole-child training and ongoing clinical supervision. If you have concerns about your child's care, your ABA supervisor is there to help.
